The answer for this question is debatable. However, from my Christian teachings and recurring reflections on the subject, I have come to believe that anyone who fervently believes in the Trinity, repents for his previous sins and promises not to do them again, will find peace with God. It is common for man to have a proclivity to worship an entity, but there is only one entity you should be worshiping and in my opinion that is God. So to recapitulate, if you repent for your sins--in this case worshiping an idol, God will take you in as one of his own; however, don't make the same mistake twice. This is to say, don't play with God; don't continue worshiping idols after receiving forgiveness from God.

No one who worships anything is doing so in the belief that the thing worshiped is an idol. Probably, every human being worships many things, things that others could easily point out are idols. Even what believers think is genuine worship of God may have many idolatrous aspects to it. So idol worship is part of being human. Is it good? It is probably neither good nor bad.

Forbidden. Jews are not allowed to worship anyone but G-d. And we are forbidden to ever try and represent G-d in any image. Nor are we allowed to worship any other human; this would be idolatry. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
