∙ 14y agoNo. To Lutherans, the sacrament of Holy Communion is a way to strengthen faith by respecting Jesus' command to the disciples to continue the tradition of the Last Supper, growing closer to God by consuming the body and blood that is "under" the bread and wine. To them, forgiveness can only come from Jesus' sacrifice; therefore saying that taking Communion forgives sins would be untrue.
It is recommended, however, that before a Lutheran receives Communion, he or she should let go of any grudges, so forgiveness to others should be given.

There is no teaching in the Lutheran Church regarding the eating of meat on Fridays. Lutherans do take on fasting as a Lenten discipline, but this is personal and individual. Often Lutherans will fast by eating only one small meal after sundown every day throughout Lent or something similar. Often Lenten fasting is not followed on Sundays as Sundays are considered "little Easters" and are not included in the 40-day count of the days of Lent.

Roman Catholic AnswerThe sacraments are the normal way in which God gives sanctifying grace to His people. You can not receive any of the sacraments without Baptism. In the normal course of life, you can not receive salvation and enter heaven without baptism, penance, and Holy Communion as you go through your life. You don't exactly utilize them, you receive them as gracious gifts from the Almighty - if you receive them worthily. For instance St. Paul points out that receiving the Most Holy Eucharist unworthily is eating your own condemnation. To put it in one sentence, the effects of worthily receiving the sacraments is eternal life in heaven with God, the effect of not receiving the sacraments (or receiving them in an unworthy manner) is eternal torment in hell.
I don't believe so, in fact, some believe it increases it.
People are eating people, because a lot of people are weak minded. They believe that they are zombies or have some demon in them so they resort to eating people.
While there are many eating contests, I don't believe anyone would actually consider competitive eating a sport. That said, you never know.
