Yes.

He allowed and encouraged worship of himself.

There are a lot of misunderstanding of just what this means or ow one might define 'worship'. But the original Greek is clear. The Greek used for the worship of Jesus is identical for that of the worship of God. It does not mean deference, respect, veneration or lesser words than actual Godly worship. There are other Greek terms that could have been used if this idea was to be conveyed. instead, a deliberate use of the word 'worship' was made. there has to be a reason for this.

Of course, there are many prophesies relating to Jesus in the Old Testament, but just one that relates to his divinity and his ability and right to accept worship as part of a Godhead is the prophesy that relates to his name: Emmanuel. This, in Hebrew, means 'God is with us' - a clear understanding that God is with us here on earth - in the figure of this man.

There are many incidences where Jesus claims directly to be divine ( "I and my Father are one", "he who has seen me has seen the Father" and so on) but the most compelling evidence is what Jesus did. he performed miracles and healings in his own name and not God's (only God could perform miracles or those acting on his behalf like Moses), he spoke with authority ('you have heard it said.... but I'M telling you this....), he forgave sins! (only God could do this on the day of Atonement ), he spoke of himself as 'Lord' (the euphemism used by the Hebrews in place of the unutterable name of God (YahWeh) in the Old Testament) and even claimed to be 'Lord of the Sabbath' suggesting that it was HE who instituted the Sabbath way back at the Creation. He even used the name of God (YahWeh = I AM) when challenged (I tell you, before Abraham was, I AM). He definitely claimed to be God. Even others realised this - on more than one occasion he was attacked and others attempted to stone him because, we read, 'he claimed to be God'. Even the trial at which he was executed was a trial for blasphemy - claiming to be God.

There are many incidences where people worshipped Jesus and he accepted it. They worshipped him at the ascension, at the resurrection, and even at his birth. It seems, however, that the climax of this worship has to be given to Thomas as recorded in John's gospel (and let's not forget that John was Jesus' closest disciple and would have written from first hand experience). In his gospel John gives us tantalising glimpses of who Jesus really is. Throughout the account there are cameo miracles followed by the great 'I AM' statements of Jesus. For example, after the raising of Lazarus, Jesus makes the statement 'I am the way the truth and the life... no one comes to the Father except through me'. But the climax of the divinity and worhip of Jesus comes right at the end of the gospel account. After Thomas initially doubts Jesus' resurrection, Jesus appears to Thomas and invites him to place his fingers in the nail wonds and his hand into his side where the spear pierced him. Thomas falls to his knees, worships Jesus, and cries out 'My Lord and my God!'. This is an unequivocal statement showing worship of Jesus. Does Jesus rebuke him? No. He accepts the worship and blesses Thomas... saying 'blessed are you Thomas
- you have seen and have believed. How blessed are they, however, who have not seen, and yet still believe".

One Biblical contradiction after another creates misguidance: (God has no Son) Nor did Jesus call for worship of him. (PLEASE CHALLENGE, SO THE BIBLE CAN SPEAK)

Matthew 5:17 "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." As this was addressed to the Ephesians; they somehow later relayed it "Ephesians 2:13-15 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations"

1.) Why does the Old Testament not mention that Jesus is the son of God? And in Isiah of the Bible, a voice comes from the heavens directed to Jesus (pbuh) saying you are my son, who I am well pleased with. While out of all 66 books regarding the subject Jesus (pbuh) never said "I am God, or worship me".

2.) King James Old Testament version says God gave His "only begotten son" (John 3:16). Other versions says unique son, and begotten can no longer be found. In the book of Psalms 2:7 we find "I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee."(King James Version) David, in this verse, is saying that God had told him he was the son of God and God has begotten him. Clearly Jesus is not the only begotten son of God.

3.) Some can say ok, Jesus was not the only begotten son of God, but he had no human father compared to David (pbuh) who had a human father. Very true, since Jesus had no human father Christians say Jesus (pbuh) is closer to God in son-ship. The question is what about Adam (pbuh)? Adam had no human father or mother, and according to the Bible he too was the son of God.

Exodus 4:22
Then you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus God says, Israel is my firstborn son....

Romans 8:14
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

In the Bible God has sons by the ton. Furthermore: The Bible depicts Jesus (pbuh) a worm...

Job 25:4
How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean [that is] born of a woman?
Job 25:6
25:6 How much less man, [that is] a worm? and the son of man, [which is] a worm?
Luke 2:21
And at the end of eight days, when he was circumcised, he was called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb. (I chose this because God has no need to be circumcised)

Final Statement:

Why is half of the New Testament written by a man who never even met Jesus in his lifetime? PAUL (Saul) claimed with no proof that he had met Jesus while on his way from Jerusalem to Damascus. Paul (Saul) was open enemy of Christianity. Isn't that reason enough to question the authenticity of what he wrote? As Saul entered Jerusalem according to Acts 20:28 "They have been informed that you (Saul) teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn away from Moses; telling them not to circumcise their children or live according to our customs."

Saul (Pauls) confession in Acts
22:7 Saul for the first time, 7 "I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, 'Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?" Saul continues to confess in verse 19 "'these men know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you. 20And when the blood of your martyr Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him."

**********************************************************************

God the father sent the wise men of Persia to worship the new born savior by leading them by the star above Bethlehem; "Jesus" states throughout the Bible that He and the Father are one. The disciples worshipped him after he calmed the storm while in a boat. The woman at the well worshipped Him and so did Thomas after seeing His wounds from the nails. He is worshipped in revelations by the saints and elders.
They worshipped Him by bowing down to him, not singing or playing music. There is only one way to worship according to the bible- presenting yourself by bowing, kneeling, or prostrating ones self before Almighty God. While the Messiah was on earth he accepted worship, yet instructed us to worship the Father in spirit and truth, not with your mind or lip service, not with emotion based music or song. With your spirit and in truth-or true/factual worship-BOWING DOWN in reverence and awe with your body 'as is your reasonable sacrifice".
All praise be to YAH, in the name of His Son Yeshua Ha Meshiach.

Yes, according to "what was said" for Jesus!

  • Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God." [Matthew 14:33].

No, according to "what Jesus said"

  • Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.'" [Matthew 4:10]
