religions were not exclusive and therefore many people combined different aspects of different religions that suited their likes. This merging of religions allowed for a more peaceful environment within the walls of china. so there wasnt any religious strife.

also confucianism focuses a lot on the idea of proper moral conduct, respect, and education all of which affect the way society behaves and acts

religions were very calming and peaceful rather than brutish so these attributes played their part in society as well

spirits influence you daylives as the good spirits will do good things such as making rainfalls, crops grow etc. while the harmful spirits made it unsafe to walk at night and bring bad luck
