that was never answered, you just have to rely on your faith that Adam was the first, so therefore he was created by God, and not in God's womb so to speak

Answer

Not to linger over this question, which seems to have been answered no doubt to the satisfaction of the asker. I have to admit that I have pondered over it for the past half an hour.

That, as the scriptures say, Adam was formed from the dust of the earth is as likely true, for the earth contains all of the elements to organize a man. (I am reluctant to use the word create). Then to have the Lord breath into Adam the breath of life, is but figurative to having the spirit of Adam enter his body giving it life. Eve as well as all other creatures were organized in the same way, each in turn receiving their spirit.

and so become living things.

I find that I must agree with the other answers that our first parents did not have belly buttons.

AnswerI would think that God gave him one, just so Cain and Abel wouldn't feel like freaks. AnswerIf you are refering to Adam, the first man on earth, the awnser is, according to The Bible and scientific studies, no. The belly button signifies that you were born of a woman. The belly button is where your umbilical cord was. The umbilical cord was how you lived in your mother's womb, it attached you to her, that's how you were fed and grew. When you are botn, they cut the umbilical cord with scissors becaus you can now live without it. That's where your bellybutton came from. Since Adam was put on the earth as a teenager by God, he was not born of a woman, and therefore did not have an umbilical cord attahced to him, so he didn't have a bellybutton! Neither did his wife, Eve. AnswerNo he did not. Belly buttons are the result of a birth. Adam was not born he was created as a full grown adult. He did not even have a childhood. AnswerSince God does not and cannot lie He would not create something false. The leftovers of the umbilical cord are the signs of attachment of a placenta. Adam was not nourished in anyone's womb in this way. Thus it would appear certain Adam had no belly button. This would have given him occasion to witness to his children and grandchildren as to his origin. He was not a freak, he was wonderfully created that way by God Himself.

That's a popular philosophical question among Christians. I would say yes, even though they may not have been born physically or ever been children, but it is a good question. Unfortunately, probably no one on earth can answer it for sure, unless they speak directly with God and ask him.

AnswerThey probably didn't as belly buttons are just scars left from where the umbilical cord detached after birth. AnswerIf the wisdom of the United States Congress means anything, the answer is, "We cannot say they did not"; for Congress endorsed a listing of the U.S. Government Printing Office that depicted Adam and Eve with navels.

It happened in this way: In 1943, two famous anthropologists, Gene Weltfish and Ruth Benedict, co-authored a pamphlet called The Races of Mankind (New York: Pacific Affairs Committee, 1943), which the U.S. Government Printing Office added to its list of offerings. The point of the publication was that all people are of a common stock and are bothers and sisters under the skin. Aimed at the general public, the simplistic text was reinforced with stick-figure drawings of people. The figures of Adam and Eve were depicted with a pencil dot in the middle of the abdomen, to represent a navel.

A U.S. senator objected to the publication on the grounds that it showed Adam and Eve with a navel, and asserting that the Government Printing Office had no business sponsoring such anti-Biblical Propaganda, he tried to introduce a motion to have the pamphlet removed from the Printing Office listings. His motion failed, thus putting the U.S. Congress on record as approving the "fact" that Adam and Eve had navels.
It is assumed that Adam and Eve both had belly buttons.

* A belly button is formed when the umbilical cord between a baby and its mother is cut and tied off. * God had no mother, so there would be no umbilical cord. * God does not have a body, so there would be nowhere for the belly button to be. * It is very likely that there is no God.

The story does not specify whether Adam and Eve had belly buttons or not. As they were created, and not born, it is the opinion of some that would not have belly buttons.

In order to have a bellybutton they would have to have been born of a woman as the umbilical cord is what leaves a mark. So I believe.

It would appear that he must have had. How else would males today have them?

You've got the question wrong. The old theology poser was "did Adam have a navel".
