β 12y agoSince 1981 theologians from the Coptic and Orthodox churches have been meeting to resolve differences, and have concluded that many of the differences are caused by the two groups using different terminology to describe the same thing. In the summer of 2001, the Coptic Orthodox and Greek Orthodox Patriarchates of Alexandria agreed to recognize the sacrament of marriage (and baptisms) of one another.
No. Not unless the Orthodox man is able to obtain an annulment.
Yes, according to an agreement reached between the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Coptic Orthodox Church in 2001. Actually, prior to this agreement, a Greek Orthodox person could still have married a Coptic Orthodox person, but for the marriage to be recognized by both Churches it would have had to be performed twice (once in each Church). The agreement obligates each Church to recognize the validity of a marriage performed in the other Church.
Yes that is possible.
No, you are only allowed one woman if you are to get ordained.
The answers is no, if he wasn't divorced, yes, because the catholic church recognises the orthodox church as valid since they were one church before. However if he is divorced he is not allowed in either catholic or orthodox. A Catholic can marry any non- Catholic, and it is recognized as a sacrament in the Catholic church. Only when the individual has been previously married there is an issue. In which case that individual must have their previous marriage annuled. The Catholic church permits Catholics to marry in the Orthodox church and it is a sacrament. I have spoken to Catholic priests and Catholic Bishops and they do not see a problem with a Greek annulment, as being an impediment. If that individual did not have their marriage previously annulled than it would be an issue.
Because she can only marry again when she was divorced and she had to marry me and now inshalla she will marry me so she was divorced
Usually this is allowed, especially if the children are raised as Orthodox Christians, but this decision would be made by your priest or bishop
Yes, A Muslim man can marry a Greek Orthodox woman. However, a Muslim woman can marry only a Muslim man and can not marry a Greek Orthodox man. Refer to question below.
Roman Catholic AnswersAs Christians we believe that marriage is for life. We believe this as God created us, and this is how He made us. Thus a divorced person, if they have been validly married cannot marry again while that spouse is still alive. If in your question, you are referring to a "divorced Ukranian Orthodox man" who is still validly married in the eyes of the Church, then, no, you would not be able to marry a Catholic woman. You may speak to a priest about this, if there is some question as to the validity of your marriage, it might be annulled (declared that no sacramental marriage actually existed), then you would be free to marry a Catholic woman.
whats says kuran about Muslim mans marry with orthodox woman?
Macedonian orthodox like Athenian orthodox and Thessalian, Epirotian, Thracian orthodox can all marry in the Greek Orthodox Church no matter where in Greece they hail from. The foreign church of the Former Yugoslav Republic is a schismatic church and not recognized by the ecumenical patriarchy of Constantinople as an orthodox church. Therefore no Greek, whether Macedonian, Athenian, Thessalian etc can marry in the church of the former Yugoslav Republic but the various ethnicities of the Former Yugoslav Republic who follow their Christian church can marry in a Greek Orthodox Church.
