Every seventh year the Israelites were to leave their fields unharvested, so that the poor would have something to eat. Gen 23:11

Leave some grapes on the vine for travelers and the poor. Lev 19:10

To help feed the poor and strangers, farmers should not harvest the corners of their fields. Lev 23:22

"It shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow."

Be kind to widows, orphans, fatherless children and strangers. Share whatever you have with them. Deut 24:17-21

"Blessed is he that considereth the poor." Ps 41:1

"Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked." Ps 82:3-4

Help your neighbor, if you can. Prov 3:28

"He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor." Prov 22:9

"If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink." Prov 25:21

"Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more." Prov 31:6-7

Feed the hungry, house the homeless, clothe the naked. Is 58:7, 10

Defend the helpless and oppressed; don't harm strangers, widows, orphans, or other innocent people. Jer 22:

"Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother: And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart." Zech 7:9-10

Help others that are in need; don't just wish them well. 2:15-16
