In MLA format people should use page numbers when necessary especially when citing a journal. All pages should be numbered in the upper right-hand corner, but sometimes the first page of the paper might be omitted of the number symbol.

In MLA format, you typically do not number the pages of your paper. The only exception is if your instructor specifically requests that you include page numbers, in which case you would place them in the header of your paper, aligning to the right.

MLA generally states 100 and below are spelt out as well as large whole numbers such as "one million" or "on thousand."

APA generally states that you spell out 10 and below.
