One such formative experience was due to the intervention of a Ms. Dodson, whom the neighborhood called 'the Wicked Witch of West Harlem'. At the time of their acquaintance, Myers was an avid comic book reader. That zeal nevertheless was nipped in the bud when Dodson described comic books as the 'how to get to jail'.
