If it uses scientific methodology and experimental data, then it is a science. If it does not use scientific methodology, then it cannot be a science. Psychology, as a field, uses scientific methodology and is a science. Some forms of psychology, such as psychoanalysis, do not use scientific methodology and are not sciences.

In fact, i quiet disagree with you because i think there are lots of ways to study human behavior, for many many different questions. Scientific methodology and experimental data are two different ways. But the study in itself doesn't make it science or art. For me, the difference between art and science is the kind of application you can do with the same information that takes origin, for example in scientific methodology as observation. There are lot of links between art and science that need to be studied as the quest of truth, of utility (how you should produce something in the world-be a part of a consumerist system); their origins taken in the observation of the real, concrete life (such as human behavior), a person that take position thrue it, sometimes with ethic or politic idees. So I disagree that only science can use scientific methodology and that's what it would determines it . Maybe today the frontiers between art and science can be blured to create new ways to think and observe reality?

The study of human behavior can be considered both an art and a science. It involves observing and interpreting complex human actions and motivations, which can have subjective elements that are open to interpretation like an art. At the same time, researchers use systematic methods and empirical evidence to understand human behavior, reflecting a scientific approach.
It is heavily debated as to whether the study of human behavior is an art or a science. Some believe it is one or the other, some believe it is both, and some believe it is neither. It also depends on what parts are being studied.
It is both, but more a science than an art. Psychology has theories on the brain and learning so that makes it a science, but it is also an art since it requires the person who is a psychologist to have a deeper understanding of the human condition.
Yes!
the movement of the body, the way we ride a bike, manners and etiquette, how we dress, how we behave in class, the language we use...it's all art.
Psychology is considered a science because it relies on empirical evidence, systematic observation, and experimentation to understand behavior and mental processes. It uses scientific methods to test hypotheses and draw conclusions about human behavior. However, it also incorporates aspects of art and philosophy in understanding the complexities of human nature.
Psychology is typically considered a social science rather than an art. It involves the scientific study of behavior and mental processes, focusing on understanding individuals and groups. Art, on the other hand, typically refers to creative expression through mediums like painting, music, or literature.
Psychology is considered a science because, in all actuality, it fits the criterion.According to Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary, science is "knowledge attained through study or practice," or "knowledge covering general truths of the operation of general laws, esp. as obtained and tested through scientific method [and] concerned with the physical world."Psychology often uses experiments and observation to discover correlations and relationships between two variables, it seeks to explain phenomenon via the scientific method of discovery and analysis, and it is advancing human society in medicine, commercial applications, and personal comfort and convenience. There's no real reason to say it isn't except that it is a very hard science to conduct. however, I must remind you that at one point, all Mendel had was a bunch of plants he grew, and he did "science," so psychology must be one as well.Because it is an art of identifying a person's state of mind, if he is in a proper or normal thinking or not.It also includes the quantity of mind, which generally is the main reason of studying science.Because we can test our hypotheses experimentally.
Art affects human behavior by eliciting emotional responses, challenging perspectives, and fostering empathy. Exposure to different forms of art can provoke reflection, inspire creativity, and promote social connectedness, influencing how individuals think and interact with the world around them.
Humanities is a field of study that explores human culture, society, and history through disciplines such as literature, philosophy, history, art, and language. It focuses on understanding and interpreting the human experience and values through critical analysis and reflection.
