you don't choose to go that way. it juss happens. emo people are emo because something tragic happened in their life, ex: a relative dead that they were very close to, they lost their home, they are/were abused. many things can turn a person emo. the reason emo people cut their wrists is because they feel nothing anymore and by cutting their wrists they finally feel an something, pain and if that's all they can get then that's fine with them. if that's not how someone you know who is 'emo' then they are juss a posur. and not a true emo kid.
Answer:
Well not exactly ^_^ Many people choose to be emo because some people follow the trends and others just have something depressing going on in there life. I find most 'emos' and 'scenes' to be posers. I go by being myself. And they choose being depressed because that what makes them 'emo' or whatever they feel like they have pain in there life. I admit I was 'emo' at 13 (I just turned 15) and I was for no reason because the guy I liked, excuse me loved wanted someone else besides me and I felt dead inside and I wanted to run away and bleed. (Yea dark). But the point being is some choose some don't.
The "emo" phenomenon often involves music, fashion, and emotional expression that resonates with feelings of sadness, angst, and introspection. Many individuals who identify with the emo subculture find solace in music and aesthetics that reflect their own struggles with mental health, self-expression, and societal issues. By embracing themes of depression and darkness, they may find a sense of connection, understanding, and solidarity with others who share similar experiences.
Being emo typically involves a specific style of dress, interest in emotional music such as punk or alternative rock, and a tendency to express deep emotions and feelings. It can also involve a sense of outsider identity and an affinity for melancholic or introspective themes.
Not necessarily. Depression can affect anyone, regardless of their style or interests. Emo is a subculture associated with themes of emotional expression, but not all individuals who identify as emo experience depression.
Both emo and goth subcultures have their own unique styles and identities, so it ultimately depends on personal preference. Emo tends to focus more on emotions and introspection, while goth is typically associated with darker aesthetics and a focus on the occult. Choose the one that resonates most with your individual style and interests.
Not necessarily. Emo is a subculture that often involves certain fashion and music preferences, but it's not always possible to accurately identify someone as emo based solely on their behavior. Emo individuals can encompass a wide range of personalities and expressions beyond stereotypes.
Emo people's academic performance can vary like anyone else's. Emo is a style of music and fashion, not necessarily an indicator of academic success. People of all subcultures can excel academically or struggle.
if you are emo you are highly depressed.
No. Different people have different types of tastes in music. You might LISTEN to goth or emo music but that doesn't make you one. For example, a perfectly good person who gets good grades, is in extra ciricular activities, does service, and is depressed doesn't make them emo. You would be surprised at how many people are depressed but aren't gothic or emo. They just choose to listen to those types of music because it helps them.
A true emo is someone who is depressed because of something.
Not necesarly, emo kids are not always depressed their just very senitive when it comes to emotions, and insted of getting angry or mad they get sad and depressed.
Depression has been the name in common parlance for the disorder for over a century, while the 'Emo" subculture is an entirely recent phenomenon. Technically "Emo" is short for emotional, so that "Emo" person is just an emotional person, not necessarily a depressed person. Those who are depressed suffer from an active and acute mental illness, and an "Emo" person is just, as I said, emotional. Moreover, depressed people are overwhelmingly adults, with the average age of onset of a first Major Depressive episode occurring in the 30's. Though depression in adolescence is possible, it is relatively rare.
I believe it is an emo version of a twitter post such as: "Im felling very depressed"
An EMO is a depressed person who perfers black and other dark colours and rock. But that is just a stereotype
you can't really choose to be emo if that's why you want to know i wouldn't say that you want to be emo. its really hard. people hate emo people for no reason honestly it may seem cool, but if you can't handle being emotional, don't be emo emo people are angry, confused, or depressed. but if you are emo. be emo and proud make sure you have friends to back you up its not only how you feel but how you dress and the music you listen to
no you aren't cuz "feeling emo" isn't a feeling.Emo is just a fashion. Its not an emotion, even though emo is short for emotional, its just a steriotype in todays society. If you are not emo but you feel depressed it is the same thing as saying... "i'm not a tree, but i like leaves" See you dont have to be a tree to like leaves, so you don't need to be emo to be depressed!!!hope this helped... (And not ALL emos are suicidal, it's just the idiots who drive them to it...)
since emo means- depressed people cutting them self's for a various of reasons yes emo can be led to sicdecca. mostly they have a reason
Emo is a emotional action that which you are depressed or have these weird moods and you may express them in some ways of your life.
