Sir Edward Gray 1862-1933. Graduated from Oxford, at age 23 he became the youngest memeber of the House of Commons ( the lower level of 2 parliamentary houses the other being the House of Lords) he served from 1885 to 1916 becoming the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs from 1892 to 1895. Prime Minister Campbell-Bannerman appointed him Foreign Minister in1905 where he served for 11 years until 1916. I would say this due to his role as a key diplomat during WW1 and the unstable years that followed. To this day no one has held the post longer than he. Its also worth noting h was the Britsh Ambassador the the US from 1919 to 1920. Sir Edward Grey was also a member of the House of Lords from 1923 to 1934 when he resiegned. He dies in 1933 having completed a fulfilling life dedicated to peace.. if not liberal politics ;) facebook.com/Joshua.s.bowler
