Any thug can get himself admired if he amasses enough power and influence and blames others for the mistakes that we all make. No political figure deserves or is ultimately best served by admiration: they deserve respect for their positive accomplishments and criticism for their failures and misdeeds. Someone who really earns a proud place in history doesn't need to be admired, they can leave that to the charlatans.
