Their are two major political parties in all the different levels of government. The first is the Democratic Party, which currently is in control of the White House and the Senate. The other party is the Republican Party which controls the House of Representatives.
In Britain there is a political party known as Labour. Currently they are the party in power, forming the government. So Britain has a "Labour Government". The other main part is the Conservative Party. When they are in power there is a "Conservative Government", or because it is a nickname for their party a "Tory Government".
In the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, the Liberal Party currently (March, 2009) forms a majority government.
The Anti-federalists, or currently, the Libertarian Party
2011 : Indian National Congress, with the support / alliance of smaller political parties
The democratic party.
Conservative party of Canada forms government with The Liberal Party of Canada, New Democratic Party and Bloc Quebecois in opposition.
