What type of radicals? |
Most political movements in human history have had radical wings. Generally speaking, radicals have views further to the left or to the right of the moderate wings of their movement. For example, the Radical Republicans of the post-Civil War period (Reconstruction), believed that the former Confederate states should be punished for their part in starting the war, and that the federal government had a military role in protecting the rights of newly-freed African-Americans.
