Nikita Khrushchev never did anything 'bad' per se. He did what any leader would do: try to appease his people and defend his country.

If you mean "de-Stalinization" the period in which Khrushchev badmouthed Stalin and all he did, that could be considered bad if you are a 'Stalinist' Communist.

If you mean the Cuban Missile Crisis, Cuba was a Soviet ally who feared the US would soon try to topple it so it asked Khrushchev if he could help. So Khrushchev built some missiles on the island, no where near the amount the US had stockpiled. The US sent a spy plane and discovered the missiles, immediately making a blockade of the island. After this, Khrushchev ordered his men to launch the missiles at the US if the Americans attacked.

Finally, Khrushchev realized that if this continued nuclear war would come of it and he knew this would do unspeakable damage, so he chose to stop building the nukes to save the world basically.

More than likely, the crushing of the Hungarian people in 1956 with infantry and tanks was a brutal thing. Hungary was "taken over" as was most of Eastern Europe and forced into a communist state where escape was almost impossible.By his own admission in his memoirs he signed the death warrants for almost 40,000 disloyal Soviet citizens under Stalin, and was somehow unaware that when the USSR occupied one half of Poland under the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact of 1939, that 15,000 Polish army officers and solduers were summarily executed in the eastern forests of Poland.
