Two opposing systems of government: Individual Freedom verses Socialism (Communism).
Communism-Safety first for society as a whole Free World-Individual freedom first and foremost
Communism, in the Soviet-style form, or even Chinese-style form would be highly unlikely to occur in the U.S., as these models of government were highly ineffective, dictatorial, and removed incentives for individual and corporate productivity. There also existing severe curtailing of human rights, including those of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion and the right to bear arms.
democracy at persent has become a way of life as no other form of govt. gives the individuals this much rights, liberty to grow, freedom and so many other rights. It is the govt. of the majority but with minority rights. It promotes both individual as well as collective rights. Communism stands for the common use and sacrifice the ind. liberty and freedom. there is scope of supression of the rights of the individual.
Society (communism) verses the individual (freedom). What's more important, the individual person's right to do what he wants (smoke a cigar for example) or societies safety with his second hand smoke?
I know one of them is communism
In Communism there is no economy, as there is no money and no buying and selling. People are free to work and consume as they wish.
Communism "was" the opposite of our way of life. In the US, individual freedom (the Bill of Rights) ensures individualism. Individual freedom comes over society's desires. In the US, if society doesn't like books that a particular person writes and wants those books outlawed; That writer is protected to continue his writings by the Constitution of the United States. In a communist country, society can outlaw him and his books.

Fear. The fear of losing individual freedom, private property, and the ability to make oneβs own choices can lead to extreme reactions against potential communism. This fear is often fueled by a perception of communism as a threat to personal autonomy and prosperity.
