On paper, Mexico is a democracy with a "federal representative republic" as form of government. In practice however, there is a high degree of corruption among public officials which translates into undemocratic practices such as nepotism, buying and selling of votes and "acarreados", who are people that show at public demonstrations in exchange of money or other kind of support, such as food and household items.

Mexico is officially a federal presidential representative republic. As such, it is ruled by government representatives (the executive and the legislative powers) elected by the populace.

Just like any country in the world however, there are groups within the country with more influence and power than others. Some of these include large corporations, national worker's unions and general "pressure groups". Depending on how cynic are you in regards to politics, these groups could qualify as being part of an oligarchy.

Yes. Mexico is a federal representative republic, with a government very similar (in general terms) to the United States. It is a union of a significant number of provinces under the control of a federal government made up a legislature, executive, and judiciary. Representative republics are commonly known as indirect democracies, where people elect representatives who will then vote on various laws and governmental activities, as opposed to direct democracies, where people themselves vote for all or most laws and governmental activities.

Mexico is a "federal presidential representative democratic republic" whose government is based on a congressional system, whereby the president of Mexico is both head of state and head of government, and of a multi-party electoral system.

In short, it has a form of government much like that of the United States.
