In a democracy, leaders are elected by the people for the people. In a Dictatorship, one person or a small group of people (authoritarian government) make all the rules and rule the people. Usually the government in control in a dictatorship are extrememly difficult to overthrow. A monarchy is someone that has total power of a certain people. Monarchy status is usually inherited from grandparents, parents, or through marriage. Monarchies usually last until the king/queen/prince/princess/duke/dutchess or whatever monarchy it is dies.
