U.S.P.S. has never heard that the customer is always right. And USPS Customer Service is as bad as their delivery service.

So my business will go to Brown - UPS. I will always and forever support shuttering of USPS in favor of contractors delivering our mail and parcels. I am a housebound, shut-in, disabled veteran, well versed in mail and lack of delivery services because I have to deal with VA on a continuing basis.

And leaving my house to pay Priority postage on a package that will never get there - as USPS history repeats itself - not only makes me sicker. Sometimes it puts me in bed for a few days.

Now, U.S.P.S. is not going to re-deliver, clearly will not refund my $7 that I could have spent on 2 prescriptions at the pharmacy. We'll see how Brown - UPS - handles my business from now on. Because I did not pay for confirmation of delivery, USPS "wriggled" out of its delivery guarantee of 2 days or less when Priority is paid. That would have cost me $2 more. Considering USPS' lousy track record, there's still no guarantee the package would have been delivered.

Still, I have to leave my house again, to have the package sent by UPS. At least I can rest assured that the intended recipient will receive her package via UPS this time.

Just like dealing with every other federal bureaucracy, don't expect to get very far. I attempted to have a Priority package re-sent because it was returned to me after 3 delivery attempts during the holidays. The intended recipient was out of town for 2 of 3 attempts: Christmas weekend only. She checked her lockbox mailbox both before and after her holiday trip.

She received nothing from U.S.P.S. So where are all 3 delivery attempts notifications? Because she's received packages from me before, she knew what to look for. And she was perfectly capable of finding the post office on previous occasions to pick up my packages.

Not only did U.S.P.S. Customer Service insinuate and reiterate that I and the intended recipient are lying about not receiving any delivery notices at all. USPS Customer Service claimed that the recipient is irresponsible in picking up mail from a set of really small apartment mail-boxes. USPS Customer Service also classified the recipient as "college student". Profiling and minimizing any class of people is not a privilege the USPS specializes in. All of USPS blathering to try to mend this broken situation will go into my complaint.

This is the 3rd time I have sent package to the same address. So the errors are neither mine nor the intended recipients'.

By natural slip of the tongue, I am surmising that the 3rd delivery attempt was never made. And the package was returned to me, just 2 days after intended recipient returned from her first of 2 holiday trips.

If I ever receive a complaint form necessary to file formal written complaint, I will request certified copies of the delivery slips through Freedom of Information Act entitlements. Not only did I pay taxes for more than 30 years in the workforce. I paid more than $7 to have this package sent with a sense of urgency. I was in a profession that required me to use USPS, instead of any other delivery service where performance actually counts, means something to supervisors and deliverymen.

Since I moved to this neighborhood, I have spent at least 8 hours on the phone with USPS regarding 5 different deliveries and complaints. I would say it is crystal clear that my telephone and written complaints are being ignored.

The best I could do was curse both the neighborhood PO supervisor and the USPS Customer Service rep. I still have freedom of speech, even though I have lost all of my other Civil and Constitutional rights.

Our mail service is the WORST thing you have EVER seen. We get mail that should be to the house next door... sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right. We get mail for houses that are 1 or 2 blocks over from us... same house #, just wrong street. We purchased a locking mail box because door to box was often left open. But evidently postman still doesn't care... he leaves the mail sticking out of the slot, or places it on top of the box. I tried to return mail incorrectly placed in my box, so I wrote "wrong address" on the envelope... postman scratched thru my note and put it back in my box... TWICE. This all started several years ago when longtime postman retired.

I have complained several times, been ignored or rudely responded to. I have talked with several of our neighbors who express the same concerns.

WHAT CAN WE DO?!!?!!
