Nobody colonized Yemen, if we explicitly use the term colonization.

North Yemen was a territory under Ottoman control, as part of the Ottoman Empire.
South Yemen was a protectorate (which is an independent government that chooses to have Another Country manage defense and other external matters) of the United Kingdom.
