How often should you water roses?

Roses love water and need at least 1-2 inches a week. You need to water rose bushes at least 2 to 4 times a week for about 30 minutes at a time. You never want to water the leaves of the bush, instead you will want to water the base of the plant.

Never water just a little bit; this allows mineral salts to build up in the soil. The key to normal watering is to allow the top inch or two of potting soil to dry out between waterings. Also, some plants that require normal watering during the growing season, may require less during the winter months when they are dormant.
