Trees naturally take in a lot of water so stabilizes the amount of water in the environment, no excess and no scarcity.

If flood happens; from the direction of woods for example or where there are trees planted together in a group, then they act as a barrier and slow down the speed of water to less than half and water uptake increases so less water comes out from the other side.

Water plays a very vital role in preventing erosion and these were only a few.!!

Plants: Plants do need water but they die if they get too much water. And the water will take nutrients away from the soil causing plants to die.

Animals: They would drown and die.
