Light can pass through either objects which have totally regular particle structure (eg:diamond) or objects with a totally irregular particle structure (like air).

Objects which have a degree of regularity in their structure but are not totally irregular nor regular do not let light through.

Metals, which do have totally regular structure, are shiny due to the fact that the positively charged ions are surrounded by a 'sea' of electrons, which causes them to be shiny.

Light can travel through materials that are transparent or translucent because their atomic or molecular structure allows light to pass through relatively unimpeded. Materials that are opaque absorb or reflect light due to their molecular arrangement, preventing light from passing through.

What do you call things that let light travel through them?

Materials that allow light to pass through them are called transparent materials.

What materials allows light to pass through?

Glass, some plastics, air, water, and others.

What is a material that light can't travel through?

There is no known material that light cannot travel through. However, materials such as lead and thick concrete can significantly attenuate or absorb light, making them almost opaque to visible light.

What does not let light through?

There are many materials that light can not travel through which are called opaque objects.

What can light travel through that sound cant travel through?

Light can travel through a vacuum, such as outer space, where sound cannot travel as it requires a medium like air, water, or a solid to propagate. Light can also travel through transparent materials like glass or air, while sound is mostly blocked or absorbed by these materials.

Materials through which light can travel in straight lines are?

Transparent

Does light travel at different speeds through different materials?

no

What are 3 materials mediums light can travel through?

Air, water, and glass are three common materials that light can travel through. Each material has different properties that affect how light travels through it, such as its density and refractive index.

A material that light can travel through is?

A material that light can travel through is called a transparent material. These materials allow light to pass through without scattering or being absorbed. Glass, air, and water are examples of transparent materials.

Materials that allow light to pass through them are called?

Materials that allow light to pass through them are called transparent materials. These materials do not absorb or reflect light, enabling light to travel through them with minimal obstruction. Examples include glass, water, and clear plastics.

What are mediums that light waves can travel through?

Light waves can travel through a vacuum (such as outer space), air, water, glass, and other transparent materials. Light waves can also travel through some opaque materials, but they may get absorbed or scattered in the process, reducing their intensity.

What allows light through?

Materials that allow light to pass through are called transparent materials. These materials have a molecular structure that allows light to travel through them without being scattered. Examples of transparent materials include glass, water, and certain plastics.
