Because lead uses 11.33 grams per cc and that is very accurate more accurate then any other metal i think. (Check this on some other website). I Recommend Britannca

Why are weights on scales made of Lead?

because Lead is a very hard material

What mineral is used for fishing weights?

Lead

What type of weights can be used as scale calibration weights?

Weights which have been carefully measured and crafted for the specific purpose of calibrating scales should be used in scale calibration. These weights need to be of a known weight in order to adjust the scale.

What does a spring scales do?

it weights objects

Heavy element used for fishing weights?

Lead is a commonly used heavy element for fishing weights due to its density and availability. However, there is increasing concern about its environmental impact, leading to the development of alternative materials like tungsten or steel.

True or false balance scales are used to measure the mass of an object?

True. Balance scales are used to measure the mass of an object by comparing it to known weights on the other side of the scale until balance is achieved.

Is lead weights compound?

No - lead weights are usually fairly pure lead and thus an element and not a compound.

Is lead weights a compound?

No, lead weights are not a compound. Lead weights are typically made of pure lead metal, which is an element on the periodic table.

Is lead weights a mixture compound or element?

Lead weights are typically made of a mixture of lead metal and other elements such as antimony or tin to increase hardness. So, lead weights are considered a mixture of elements.

What element is used in weights for fishing?

Lead is commonly used in weights for fishing. It is dense, easily moldable, and can be shaped into various forms to suit different fishing techniques and conditions. Lead sinkers are effective in helping anglers reach desired depths and improve casting distance.

What are calibration weights used for?

Calibration weights are used to verify the accuracy and precision of weighing scales. By using known reference weights, the scale can be adjusted to ensure it is measuring correctly. Calibration ensures that measurements are reliable and traceable.

What are some important uses for lead?

The most important use of lead is in batteries. It is also used as weights. Ballast in sailing ships, diving weights, car tyre balancing weights. Also it is used as a component of some metal alloys. The most familiar of these is solder. Lead is used in making pigments (though now it is banned in a lot of uses due to health concerns).
