Why are babies weighed in pounds and ounces?

16 Ounces = 1lb - not sure if the same in the US but in the UK babies are now weighted in Grams and Kilograms

honestly id say anything between 10-5, but babies can be born fine at 3,

my mother had 10 kids, the heavest was a little over ten and the smallest was me, i think i was only about 4, i dont know what babies are wieghed in, maybe ounces or something like that,, sorry.

but i stopped breathing at an hour old, where as my friend had a baby recently and it was barely 3 ounces or wahtever, and it was perfectly fine :O i suppose it depends on the mother as well as the baby, and how many weeks it was born at. if your worried because you or someone else is having a baby, the doctor should tell you anyway :)
