∙ 14y agoThis is called siphoning. The gasoline-filled tube, when the end that is not in the gas tank is lowered to a point below the tank, it creates a pressure differential inside the tube. Just as liquid pours from a glass when it is tilted, so does the gasoline flow through the tube. As long as the tube in the tank is below the level of gasoline in the tank, the gasoline will continue to flow until the flow is interrupted (or until the tank is empty).

∙ 14y agoThe mechanic is using a siphon to transfer the gasoline from the car's tank to the drum. By creating a pressure difference between the two ends of the tube, gravity helps to move the gasoline from the higher tank to the lower drum. This method is simple and effective for emptying liquids from one container to another.
create an electromagnet.
The light on the wall will likely be green, as the green plastic will filter out light of other colors and only allow green light to pass through.
Plastic and glass are better conductors of heat compared to ice, so when ice cubes are placed on them, heat from the surroundings is transferred to the ice, causing it to melt. The higher rate of heat transfer in plastic and glass materials speeds up the melting process of the ice cubes.
No, sharpeners do not float in water as they are usually made of materials that are denser than water, such as metal or plastic. If placed in water, the sharpener will sink to the bottom.
Plastic wrap is made of a material that is a poor conductor of heat, which means it does not allow heat to escape easily. When plastic wrap is placed over an object or container, it creates a barrier that prevents heat from passing through easily, resulting in heat being trapped and retained within the covered area.
It is possible that the mechanic's lien cannot be placed on the tractor trailer because it is leased. However, this may vary depending on the laws of the state in which the mechanic is working, or where the company is based.
The purpose of a plastic sleeve is to protect whatever is placed inside from stains or dirt. Alternatively if multiple things are placed inside it is to keep them all together.
If this has caused a mechanic's lien to be placed on it, yes.
Another word for placed in jail is "incarcerated."
The gasoline is avoided to go into the oil by few piston rings placed on the piston of the engine. Actually, the piston rings are made for this purpose only.
If plastic, it needs to be made obviously unusable, by crushing or cutting. Ideally it should then be placed into the recyclables. Another option is to locate a large industrial receptacle into which it can be placed. Some companies have a "collect all, sort later" arrangement with their disposal contractors.
It'll have to be at a lower level than the car's gas tank, although, in reality, he would have to remove the fuel tank, disconnect the neck (as modern cars come with an anti-siphon neck), and either place the fuel tank at a higher point than the receptacle, or else use a vacuum pump (with diesel fuel, it's fine to use an electric one, and that's what we do at my shop.. gasoline is much more volatile, though).
No, the rate of evaporation will decrease as pressure is increased.
A coin placed in a plastic container by a grading service.
It won't run, that's for sure. Diesel is ignited by compression pressure, not by spark. And the compression in a gasoline engine is not sufficient to ignite the diesel.
