Pewter is not renewable as it is typically made from a combination of metals, such as tin, copper, and antimony, which are mined from the earth. The extraction and processing of these metals are resource-intensive and not easily replenished. Recycling pewter can help reduce the need for new raw materials but does not make it a renewable resource.
Bioleaching is a process where microorganisms break down minerals in ores to extract metals. These microorganisms produce acidic byproducts that help dissolve the metals from the ores. The metals are then recovered from the solution using various separation techniques.
