Normal cold ice is water in its solid form.

Hot ice water is water WITH sodiumacetate disolved in it. (official name: sodium ethanoate, Na+CH3COO-)

If you touch it, you will trigger a exothermic reaction, that means it creates heat. That's why it's called cold hot ice.

So hot ice actually isn't real ice.

Hot ice, or sodium acetate trihydrate, is not traditional ice like frozen water. It is a supersaturated solution that solidifies into a crystalline form when triggered by a disturbance. While it may resemble ice in appearance, it is a different compound with its own unique properties.

How is thermal energy transferred from a hot drink to an ice cube?

Thermal energy is transferred from a hot drink to an ice cube by conduction, where heat moves through direct contact between the hot drink and the ice cube. The heat from the hot drink causes the ice cube to melt as the thermal energy is transferred.

Why does an ice cream melt but cup pf hot milk cool down when they are placed in the same surrounding?

Because of their difference in temperature, heat will transfer from the hot milk to the colder ice cream to reach thermal equilibrium. The ice cream will melt as it absorbs the heat from the hot milk, while the hot milk cools down as it gives off heat to the ice cream. Ultimately, both will converge to a similar temperature.

Which would melt more ice-a pot of hot water or tub of warm water?

A pot of hot water would melt ice faster than a tub of warm water because the higher temperature difference between the ice and the hot water allows for quicker heat transfer. The hot water has more thermal energy to transfer to the ice, causing it to melt faster.

What is the controlled variable for hot ice?

For hot ice, the controlled variable would be the temperature at which the solution is prepared. Keeping this constant ensures that any differences observed in the formation of hot ice are due to the change in the independent variable (such as the amount of sodium acetate added) rather than fluctuations in temperature.

What are examples of conductivity?

When you hand touches the hot handle of a pot. When you touch an ice cube and it melts in your hand. When the spoon touches hot water and the spoon gets hot. When the spoon touches cold ice cream and the ice cream melts.

Can hot ice kill you?

Hot ice (sodium acetate trihydrate) is as lethal as normal ice. You can eat some bites without getting really sick(but don't try to eat it, I'm not 100% sure). You can only get killed because it's... well... hot. But normal cold ice can also kill you because it's: (make a nice educated guess)... COLD
