Gravity itself does not slow things down (the Moon still keeps going round the Earth and the Earth still keeps going round the Sun). It's friction that slows things down. I have to say that there is likely to be more friction if there's more gravity but that's a secondary effect.

Gravity does not directly slow down a car. The force of gravity pulls the car downward, increasing the friction between the tires and the road. This increased friction can help slow down the car when the brakes are applied.

What factor causes the motion of a car to slow down as it is moving up the slope of a mountain?

The main factor that causes the motion of a car to slow down as it moves up a slope is gravity. Gravity acts in the opposite direction to the car's motion, pulling it back down the slope. This force opposes the car's forward movement, making it slow down.

When does gravity affect your car speed?

Gravity affects your car speed when you are driving on a hill. When going uphill, gravity acts against the car's momentum, causing it to slow down unless the engine compensates with more power. When going downhill, gravity assists the car's momentum, causing it to speed up unless the brakes are used to control the speed.

What makes a toy car go slow down a ramp?

A toy car will go slow down a ramp due to gravity, which pulls the car downwards. Other factors like friction with the ramp and air resistance may also contribute to the slower speed. The steeper the ramp, the faster the car will go due to gravity pulling it more strongly.

Can gravity slow down an object?

Yes, gravity can slow down an object if it is acting in the opposite direction of the object's motion. For example, if an object is thrown upwards, gravity will work against the object, slowing it down until it eventually stops and falls back to the ground.

Why is the stopping distance of a car traveling uphill is less than when it is traveling on a level road?

The stopping distance of a car traveling uphill can be less than on a level road due to gravity assisting in the deceleration process. When driving uphill, the incline can help slow down the car as it works against the forward momentum. This can lead to a shorter stopping distance compared to a level road where the car solely relies on its brakes to stop.

Why would a car be going slower driving uphill?

Gravity is trying to push the car down the hill. It takes more power to overcome that push of gravity. Unless you give the car more gas it will slow down.

What forces slow down a car as it moves?

Air Resistance mostly, and small amounts of gravity and friction with the road.

How does gravity slow down?

Gravity is a field or a force, and, hence, has little to do with speed.

What are some things that might slow down a car as it travels down a ramp?

gravity. Going uphill is always harder thatn going along the flat.
