Well, density is the mass per volume, ie grams/milliliter, so if two metals were compared and the volumes were the same, the denser metal would weigh more. But as for the strength, the density does not correlate to strength, that depends mostly on the intermoleculer bonds.

Not necessarily. Density refers to how tightly packed the material is, while strength depends on factors like the material's composition, structure, and bonding. A less dense material can be engineered to be stronger than a denser material through specific design and processing techniques.

Why is the velocity of sound faster at night than daytime?

Sound travels faster at night because the air is cooler and more dense, which allows sound waves to propagate more efficiently. During the day, the warmer temperatures and accompanying more turbulent air lead to slower sound propagation.

Why coins sink in the water but not an apple?

Metal is denser than the water thats why it sinks, but boats are designed to be floated in water dosent matter its iron or wooden boat. Its because of a certain law called Archimedes' principle. It states that "the liquid displaced by the object is equals to the weight of that object". The overall density of the boat is less than water.

Why do boat sink deeper in salt water than fresh water?

Boats sink deeper in salt water than in fresh water because salt water is denser than fresh water. This greater density exerts more buoyant force on the boat, causing it to sink deeper. Additionally, the salt in the water can also affect the buoyancy of certain materials used in the boat.

What weapon is stronger than a nuke?

A nuclear weapon is one of the most powerful weapons in existence, so it is difficult to say if there is a specific weapon that is definitively stronger. However, some may argue that certain future technologies, such as antimatter weapons or advanced cyber warfare capabilities, could potentially surpass the destructive power of a nuclear weapon.

Are straws stronger under tension or compression?

Straws are typically stronger under tension, which means they are better at withstanding a pulling force rather than a pushing force. This is because the material of the straw is more likely to deform or buckle under compression rather than stretch or break under tension.
