Because, believe it or not, religion has no proof and several 'plot holes'. People need something real, which existentialism is. But like religion, there are different types of existentialism, the side that believes nothing is connected and nothing matters and anything you do has no meaning, and the side that believes everything is connected and has meaning. Religions are more of void filler for the soul, you seek for something to believe mentally because you can't fathom a world with no meaning and find it downright depressing to think there is no afterlife. But the truth is nobody knows anything more than anybody else, life is nothing more than perceptions of the mind, identity is an illusion, and the only thing that connects humans is the force of human suffering so the connection is seemingly meaningless.
People may be drawn to existentialism because it offers a way to confront the challenges and uncertainties of life without relying on traditional systems or beliefs. Existentialism emphasizes personal freedom, responsibility, and the importance of creating one's own meaning and values in a seemingly chaotic world. It can provide a sense of empowerment and authenticity in navigating the complexities of existence.
The two main types of Existentialism are Christian Existentialism, which integrates religious beliefs with existential ideas, and Atheistic Existentialism, which rejects the concept of a higher power or divine order in favor of individual freedom and responsibility.
There are five syllables. Ex-is-ten-tial-ism.
Existentialism offered people the freedom to define their own meaning and purpose in life, to take responsibility for their choices, and to confront the realities of existence such as mortality and suffering. It emphasized individual agency and authenticity in the face of uncertainty and absurdity.
One disadvantage of existentialism is that it can be seen as leading to a sense of isolation or despair, as it emphasizes individual responsibility for creating meaning in a seemingly indifferent world. Additionally, some critics argue that existentialism's focus on personal freedom and choice ignores the influence of social and cultural factors on human behavior.
Phenomenology, existentialism, hermeneutics, and structuralism are often regarded as components of continental philosophy.
Atheists have friends like anyone else; existentialism is irrelevant.
I am not sure what is meant by Life Domain Family. It may not necessarily have to do with atheism. and nothing with existentialism.
Existentialist epistemology is, like most existentialism, based on personal choice - i.e. a choice to believe.
Atheists believe friends exist.
This link should be helpful, I believe an existential crisis is the same as an existential meltdown/breakdown.
We believe atheist families exist all over the world. Existentialism has no part.
Atheists have the same range of personalities as religious people. People are not atheists because they have a freaky personality. People are atheist because they dont believe in a god or gods. the reason for this is that they find the religion they were brought up with to be contradictory, immoral, unnecessary and simply irrelevant.
By trying to bring people out of the dark ages, to be educated with scientific facts of how we got here, and not rely on some sky-fairy, but rather ourselves. The use of the word existentialism with atheiest is unnecessary.
The two main types of Existentialism are Christian Existentialism, which integrates religious beliefs with existential ideas, and Atheistic Existentialism, which rejects the concept of a higher power or divine order in favor of individual freedom and responsibility.
