Shakespeare had four grandchildren, three grandsons by his daughter Judith and a granddaughter by his daughter Susanna. Of Judith's sons, one (Shakespeare Quiney) died as an infant. Richard Quiney died at the age of twenty and Thomas Quiney died at almost the same time at the age of eighteen. Shakespeare's granddaughter Elizabeth Hall, on the other hand, lived to a ripe old age, but never had children, despite being married.

Shakespeare had several grandchildren but the only one to reach adulthood was Elizabeth Hall, later Elizabeth Barnard, who lived into her 60s. He had three grandsons called Shakespeare Quiney, Richard Quiney and Thomas Quiney. Shakespeare died when he was a baby, but the other two were about 20 when they died.
