not anything super flashy. I would go with a short dress, mid-thigh, more elegant than a casual dress but not as dressy as like prom
You could do Mardi Gras/masquerade with masks, winter wonderland where you have to wear white, summer, or even Las Vegas could do a denim theme, a 60's dance, or a midnight dream, with all black.
You should wear something presentable to a matinee opera, but less formal than for an evening performance.
ClothingYou can wear what you want to a ceilidh. Simple as that. Some dance events are more formal than others, in which case you should be dressed smartly. Kilts are common for men to wear at formal and non formal dances. Women sometimes wear tartan skirts or sashes but often just dress nicely. It can get very hot dancing ceilidh dances so it is good to have layers to take off and good not to wear a skirt that will fly too high into the air when you spin around unless you don´t mind people seeing underneath .. this refers to boys and girls!
Semi-formal means dress clothes. Girls should wear dresses and heals, men should wear suits.

Formal wear is something that is important for all of us. Whether you are looking for the perfect formal or semi-formal
First of all, you should refer to the wedding invitation for the event's dress code, i.e. whether it's formal, semi-formal, or casual; then you can decide accordingly. You should note the type of venue when deciding what to wear, but for formal or semi-formal weddings, a tuxedo or dark suit (with tie) is usually sure to be acceptable.
