Q9650 is faster and better about heat than q6600. Also it's easier to oc.
Yes. You will need to check Intel's site to make sure they have 64-bit drivers for your hardware, but it shouldn't be a major problem.
The clocking speed of an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor is 2.4 Ghz. Clock speed refers to how quickly a processor can do a task. More information on all of Intels processors can be found on their website.

Definitely an intel core quad q6600. I tried running it on an intel core 2 duo, it was okay, but the frame rate was terrible.
There are internet groups devoted to overclocking. I suggest you check with them.
Q6600 is a 64 bit processor, but it can execute in 16 and 32 bit modes.
of course you can ... what makes you think you couldn't ?
The fan speed is really dependent on the size of the heatsink. A large heatsink can use a slower fan, while a smaller one will need a much faster fan.
This depends on what you intend to use it for. Out of the box, the Q6600 will perform marginally better, but produce slightly more heat. For over clocking, Q6600s are proven performers, as i type this, mine is currently sitting at 3.6GHz, at 36 degrees C. As the Q8200s are 45nm, and have a higher multiplier, they are considered to be less capable over clockers, although personally i have found 45nm CPUs to be excellent over clockers.
The Dell XPS line is an excellent choice for a graphic designer. Take a look at the DELL XPS 420 DESKTOP - Intel CoreTM2 Q6600 Quad-Core. It has plenty of processing power and high quality video components.
No, i have the same motherboard/pc. It's limited to 800FSB. The Q6600 is 1066FSB. If you're still looking for a upgrade the best processor would be a E4700.
