This is the last line of Act II Scene V of Romeo and Juliet, and is said by Juliet to the Nurse after the Nurse has told her that Romeo is waiting to marry her. There are two sentences in this line. "Hie" means "hurry". "High fortune" is like "good luck". It sounds like Juliet is wishing the nurse good luck but the nurse is only going to lunch. It is Juliet who is embarking on the significant journey, because she is going to get married. But the line has to be read in conjunction with the previous line. The nurse has just said "Go; I'll to dinner; hie you to the cell." Juliet is just repeating the word "Hie" with the understanding that it is the same as the previous "hie", which is to say, it's still about her.
The meaning of the conversation would be something like this:
Nurse: Go; I'm going to lunch; off you go to church.
Juliet: Off to good luck. Goodbye dear nurse.
It was surprising that Rebecca Nurse was charged with witchcraft because she did not have the usual traits that most witches do. Another reason it was a surprise was because she was wealthy and high-class, which were not usually associated with witch characteristics.
It depends who you are. Paris rates high with Capulet because he is from an important family, is well off and has the sense to talk to the girl's father first when proposing marriage. He rates moderately high with the Nurse because he is handsome. He does not rate particularly high with Juliet, because he is not interested in even getting to know her, only in posessing her.
Hi there, It all depends on what age you start your degree. I went straight from high school into university and will complete my degree this year. I will be 20 years old and working as an RN in Australia. Most RN degrees are 3 years, some are 4. However there are plenty of Enrolled Nurses that do the short 2 year course that is available at most universities that will enable you to become registered. You are never too old :) Hope that helps, Nurse Ann
In Shakespeare's time the women's parts were played by boys whose voices had not yet broken. When their voices broke, they could move on to men's roles. Actors were not surgically encouraged to have high voices as singers in some parts of Europe were. Nor did they use falsetto voices except for comedy parts like the nurse (and possibly the witches in Macbeth)
