There are a number of them. Perhaps the most moving is the scene where he and the Fool seek shelter on the heath in the hovel. Lear is on the brink of madness from his anger and frustration at losing his identity as a king. Yet he realizes, for the first time, the wretchedness of the life of the poor. He has not yet realized that even without his 100 knights he has much to be thankful for compared to people like Mad Tom. Yet he takes time to pray:
Poor naked wretches, wheresoe'er you are,
That bide the pelting of this pitiless storm,
How shall your houseless heads and unfed sides,
Your loop'd and window'd raggedness defend you
From seasons such as these? O, I have ta'en
Too little care of this. Take physic, pomp!
Expose thyself to feel what wretches feel,
That thou may'st shake the superflux to them,
And show the heavens more just.
King Lear, Hamlet, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth are some.
The film "The King Is Alive" involves a group of stranded passengers who choose to keep their spirits up by performing Shakespeare's King Lear. The plot of the movie is not based in any way on King Lear, but it is about people putting on that play. In some screenplays there are parallels between the play and the play within the play (especially if the script is written by Tom Stoppard, like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead or Shakespeare in Love) but this is not one of those scripts. It would be inaccurate to say that it is based on King Lear.
Basically everyone dies in King Lear. King Lear, all three of his daughters (Regan, Goneril, Cordelia) die. Edmund and his father Gloucester die, too. It is unknown whether Kent (Lear's faithful servant) also dies in the end because some think his last line suggests his intention of suicide. Regan's husband Cornwall dies, as well as Goneril's servant Oswald. Practically, everyone but Edgar & Albany died!
Shakespeare wrote a lot of plays - here are some of his more well known characters: Hamlet, Ophelia, King Lear
Any two of Hamlet, Macbeth, Richard II, Henry VI Part III, Richard III, King John. A dictator is murdered in Julius Caesar and an Emperor in Titus Andronicus. Although their titles are not "king", they hold a similar place in their governments.
A tragedy is a work in which the hero suffers and does not have a happy ending. Some examples of tragedies are "Hamlet", "Oedipus Rex", and "King Lear".
Macbeth Hamlet King Lear Othello to name a few

Most people would say Hamlet. King Lear is considered to be greater by some.
