they are no basic ballet steps, if you want to it well they all take a lots and a lots of practice. But the are basic positions like 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th act
there are 5 main positions in ballet: 1st-5th main steps include: plie tendue glissade pirouette passe arabesque developpe ronds de jamb releve
you know it is really five correctttttttion__there are actually six different basic postions in ballet. but there are hundreds of different steps. the six basic steps are just ways to set up for different steps in ballet. It depends there are 5 correct ways to stand in ballet. 1st position 2nd position and so on. there are actually 6 positions of the feet (1st 2nd and so on...) but usually 6th isn't used in ballet because it is just with your feet together. It is used more in jazz and modern dancing.
Teaching dance in Puplic schools in the U.S: In order to teach in state schools you need to have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and all teachers whatever their subject, have to have a minimum of two A Levels or Advanced GNVQ or equivalent plus five GCSE's at grades A-C, including Maths and English. Primary teachers born after 1st September 1979 also need a science GCSE.
