If you are upgrading to Windows 8 from an older Windows version like Vista or 7 you should not lose any files as Windows has developed the transition to be nice and smooth. If you are clearing off the OS completely and manually installing Windows 8 then it is recommended to have a backup of your files.
Not really. You can sort of change your OS without reformatting by following these steps. You need to defrag and split your Hard Drive into two partitions, so find a defragging tool that will move windows files to the front of your hard drive. After you have split your Hard Drive into two partitions you need to get a boot loader such as grub or lilo (this will overwrite your windows boot loader so if you ever uninstall the boot loader you will need to fix the windows boot loader).I believe grub comes prepackaged with Linux if you wanted to go that route. Then you just install the new OS on your new partition and you don't lose any information from your old OS.It's not exactly the simplest method and if you just want to get rid of all the viruses on your PC, then just reformat. It will save you a lot of time and hassle and it would be faster just to get all those files back (plus you can store the irreplaceable files on a CD or external hard drive). This method is called dual booting if you wanted to research more.Next AnswerIf you have another compatible operating system on another hard drive, you can replace the existing one and use the operating system on the second driveIf your hardware allows it:You can have two hard drives installed on the same machine and select which to boot. You can boot the computer from a Live CD that has another operating system on it.You can boot from a USB devce with another operating system.
Most operating systems can only be removed by formatting the hard drive, and then installing the operating system that you desire. The drawback to this is that you will lose everything that is on that partition of the hard drive. Example : if you have a computer with Windows Vista but you want to put Windows XP on the computer you have to wipe (format) the hard drive in order to load Windows XP. This means saving all your documents to a CD or another hard drive or another partition. If you want to upgrade to a newer operating system then this can be done without losing your information, but some programs may need to be reloaded. Hope this helps. ----

Yes, if you twerk too hard and you injure yourself (back injury, quads, knees, or fall down and hit your head because you lose your balance from all of the twerking), it will likely be covered by insurance.
Pretty much any form of dance will help you lose weight.
Answer = No.If you're upgrading from an older operating system (XP, Vista etc.) then you will be given the option in the Windows 7 installation to transfer your files.
If you are upgrading from an older version of Windows as in 7 or 8 you should lose nothing. If you are clearing off your current OS and installing Windows 10 by yourself then you will lose everything as your files are saved in the Windows "Files Explore". It is recommended to make a backup before doing a clear wipe.
You shouldn't lose anything when upgrading to Windows 10. But it is best to backup any important data, files and folders, to an external hard drive, flash drive, CD disk, before beginning the upgrade.
If you are going to format the drive first then there are two possibilities: 1. You have all system and personal files on one drive. In this case you would lose all your files. 2. You have system files and personal files on different drives. In this case you would only lose the files on the drives that you format. As long as you don't format the drive with your personal files on it you won't lose them.
Settings from the original office might be lost with everything else if you upgrade, but unless you put your files in the same folder with the office applications, you should not lose files.
If you format the partition where windows files are located, you will loose all data on the partition.
A MUST is your Windows files which tends to be labeled as C:\Windows or instead of C:\ it would be your local drive... where your Windows files are located at. There's generally not just a list of files that you need to back up just basically anything that you don't want to lose. I backup all my music, movies, and personal pictures.
Apple's iTunes software (www.apple.com/itunes/download/) can convert the files easily, and as they're both lossless formats you won't lose any fidelity as a result.
Well, rebooting is the same as restarting, so you will not lose your files (its like shutting down and switching the laptop on again). If you mean it in the sense of installing a clean copy of Windows or whatever, yes it will (that ususally isn't called rebooting).
You won't lose anything as long as you have it backed up somewhere safe. Don't back it up to the hard drive with the previous version of windows on it. Back it up to an external hard drive, the internet, a blank DVD or CD, or a memory stick. If you don't copy your stuff to another storage device you will lose it You will lose your settings though, so take note of them before you upgrade
I dont think that you will lose the projects. The project files are saved on your computer. after upgrading the software, it will pick up the files from the same location. In my case, I once uninstalled the filmora from my computer. After few days, I re-installed it with upgraded filmora X. when I click on open projects, I found the old projects which I created with filmora 9 also. So i think, upgrading will not make any effect on saved projects.
I am unsure of the names but I can remember what each one does. The first one should merely reinstall windows but leave all your files where they currently are. The second one should move the current structure of your hard drive to a folder normally entitled something along the lines of "my old disk structure". It will then reinstall windows on your hard drive. The third option should completely wipe your hard drive and reinstall windows on it. If you have any files that aren't backed up then you will lose them. Dont use this option if you have any files on the computer when you use this option you will lose them!
