Some time after his move to Britain, Oleg married Frances who gave him five children, one of whom, Quentin, died at an early age. Fyodor Dostoevsky had four children throughout his life, all by his second wife, Anna Grigoryevna Dostoevskaya (nee Snitkina). The first. a daughter named Sofya, died within three months of her birth in 1868. However, the subsequent year witnessed the birth of another daughter, Lyubov, who happily survived to adulthood. In 1871 Anna bore Dostoevsky a son, also named Fyodor. 1875 saw the birth of Dostoevsky's favorite child, Aleksey, who was to die only three years later due to the epilepsy he had inherited from his father.
