A robot

Assistive robots perform their task(s) by people pointing lasers at objects, as well as voice commands.
As of yet, no. You can program one to simulate emotions, but to actually feel them requires a highly complex brain similar to a human's. Currently we don't have the technology to build a robot with such a brain, and I hope we never will.
the boring ones that no other people want to do.
It can drive by itself!
To date, "humanoid robots" are doing well to walk without falling over, and can perform a few basic tasks such as recognizing a bright light or in some cases responding to a few voice commands provided that adequate voice recognition software has been installed.
they help people do things that they cannot do . such as handicapped people can't reach high places, the robot can :)
A robot is anything that performs a task that is, or was, carried out by one of more people in order to accomplish some physical goal. Generally speaking, a robot is one of two things as understood and experienced by most people... 1. A robot is a machine that performs some physical task based on a program or set of instructions designed specifically for that robot to function as intended. 2. A robot is a humanesque machine designed to simulate human behavior, but without the benefits of sentience. In either case, robots are clearly an instrument of technology and its advancement, in many cases, as a part of our society. As per the core definition, it performs some task normally associated with humans, such as manual computation, assembly of parts, working in hazardous environments, or even for human companionship.
