∙ 7y agoThere is no key signature for D harmonic minor in particular - as the raised seventh is not part of the key signature. In all clefs, D minor has one flat and in all cases (since the raised seventh in this scale is C♯), to avoid confusion it is best to avoid having both a sharp and a flat in the same key signature.
All three forms of the Minor scale have 7 tones, so any chromatic instrument (such as a bass) will have them all.
I think they are played in half, first and second position depending on which scale you're playing. Let the bass player answer. Scales are played in half, first, second, third, fourth, fifth and in fifth and a half positions, as well as the harmonic, depending on what scale you are doing and how many octives. If you are doing a one octave scale, it will most likely be all in first position and maybe in half position. If you are doing a two octave scale (or more), that is when you get into the higher positions, such as fourth, fifth and fifth and a half positions.

"G" Minor is an open "G" chord-THe same as the "A" Minor chord.
The standard full size is called "Long Scale" or "34 in. scale", meaning that the strings measure 34 in from nut to bridge. Medium scale is between 30 and 33 in. Short scale is anything shorter than 30 in. If your fingers aren't long enough to play a long scale bass, try a medium or short scale bass.

Yes, the short scale bass sounds different. It has a light, punchy sound, with less "bottom" than the long scaled one. It's a matter of tone. Play a low E on both guitars and you will hear the difference instantly. I use a short-scale bass for playing live because it's light, fast, and fun to play. But for recording, you really want the long-scaled bass.
On any bass - acoustic or electric - the scale length is the distance from the nut at the top of the fretboard to the bridge or bridge saddle. The "A" string is usually used to make the measurement. I can't speak for acoustic bass, but bass guitars commonly come in two scale elngths: "short" (30", some manufacturers use 31") and "long" (34"),
