∙ 14y agoYes- but accuracy with slugs in any double barreled shotgun is not the best- the lines of the barrels converge. Imagine a very large X. Right barrel will shoot somewhat to the left, left barrel to the right.
Improved cylinder
The last one I saw today had a 28 inch full choke barrel. Sure I would shoot buckshot out of that shotgun all day. I don't know about slugs though. The box of slugs state that they will shoot out of any choke; however, IC produces the best results.
Lacking a slug barrel, improved cylinder works best for slugs.
rifled choke tubes for sabot slugs and cylinder or improved cylinder choke tube for foster type slugs. you can shoot slugs with semi-auto. experiment to find what cycles the best without jamming.
I have had good success with Federal rifle ammo.
That will depend on your shotgun. The best way to find out is to buy as many different types/brands as you can and shoot them.
Yes. Slugs are slighty undersized, and are hollow soft lead that can squeeze down a bit. Any choke larger than Extra Full should safely shoot slugs- accuracy may be poor in full- modified works best for most shotguns.
You can shoot slugs in a double. Slugs are best shot through a cylinder bore or improved cylinder choke. The tighter the choke, the more they will be disrupted. There is risk of excessive wear and damage through a tight choke--tighter than Modified Choke.
the best answer ive found was between 1955-1958
A Mossberg 410, home defense, or a 18 inch barrel 20 gauge Mossberg 500 youth model with accu choke . Between $250.00, and $350.00
Every weapon will show a preference for one brand or weight. You have to buy as many different ones as you can afford and shoot them to find out.
