This test is done by cell phone carriers where they put a sticker on your device near the battery. Usually the sticker is white but if your device is exposed to liquid, the sticker will change its color to pink/red. The carrier's tech based on the color will say whether you are eligible for warranty or not. I personally feel this is a stupid way to test a device's functionality.
