If it just happened recently, just use the regular form of the verb. Yo como, means i eat, but if you say, Yo come hace un hora, that means i ate (or just ate) one hour ago. Or...you could say "acabo de comer".

The noun in "You ate lunch." is lunch.
Le déjeuner is "the lunch"; "j'ai mangé" is I ate / I have eaten in French. However, while in English it is acceptable to say, "The lunch I ate...", in French you would need to say "Le déjeuner que j'ai mangé", i.e. "The lunch that I ate..."
