If you look in the dictionary a lot of times you will find the word albaricoque, but being Mexican-American I have always heard the word chabacano used for apricot. This is what we called them when we picked them and this what I have heard thousands of people say over the years, I have never used nor heard albaricoque used.

I like apples doesn't directly translate, as in there's no 3 word parallel for it. To say it in Spanish you would say, "Me gustan las manzanas" Pronunciation. "May goos-tahn lahs mahn-zahn-ahs"
