In fact you don't pronounce the "ea" you pronounce the "ean"... but I can't find a word in English that sounds like it. In English you always pronounce the "N". When you say a word in "AN" like americAN the emphasis is on the "N" at the end with your tongue touching your teeth. In french when there's an "A" or an "E" beforethe "N" it changes the sound. It's very hard to understand without hearing it and it's hard for me to explain it because my English sucks. I hope I helped you a little.
John
John - Jean (and in French it's not a girl's name). As John is a name and an English word, it would be the same in French as it is in English.
Jeanette in English is a diminutive, or pet form, of Jean, which has come to be used as a given name in its own right.
Jack = Jacques, however, Jack is an abbreviation of John, so; John = Jean
Jacques is the french name for a couple of different English names, or at least is used as an appropriate variation for a number of French names. I have heard it used for James, John, Jack.
John
Jean. It is pronounced similar to the English Johns, sort of close, anyway.
As "Tsonga" is not a french name, you can pronounce it like you would in English.
John - Jean (and in French it's not a girl's name). As John is a name and an English word, it would be the same in French as it is in English.
Jean is a French equivalent of the English name "Shane." The pronunciation of the masculine proper noun -- which represents the Ulster pronunciation of the Irish name Seán and which translates literally as "John" -- will be "zhaw" in French.
Nothing, it is just the stage name of Jean-Baptiste Poquelin.
I have always understood that the name Jean was probably french in origin meaning John in English but in Scotland Jean is seen as being a female name.
jean m auel
The name John in French is "Jean."
"Rebecca" the writing is identical, and the pronounciation close to the way the English say it.
