There is no such archive.

Not entirely true. The Rutgers University library in New Brunswick, N.J. has the Herald Tribune and several other newspapers on microfilm.

For instance, I researched every day from Dec 1, 1934 to Sept. 15, 1945. If you have a flash drive you can save the articles you need for free on it. The library is open to the public.
