I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a bad solenoid on the fuel injector. Required the replacement of the entire fuel injector. After that, the problem was solved.

A jumpy RPM gauge on a 1995 GMC Sonoma could be due to a faulty RPM sensor or a loose electrical connection. It can also indicate a problem with the engine such as misfiring or issues with the ignition system. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic to diagnose and fix the issue.
