∙ 12y agoAccording to my neurons that the distance from slide to objective lens should be increase rather than decrease when coarse focusing with the scanner and LPO to obtain a clearer and more focus structure of a certain specimen.. U must ensure that the coarse adjustment knob is at it's extent and then turn on the fine adjustment knob clockwise for the easier visibility of the specimen =)) - VALERIC ACID ...sPCUTE ..=)

∙ 12y agoIncreasing the distance between the slide and objective lens when coarse focusing with scanning and low power objectives allows for a larger range of movement without bringing the lens and slide into contact, thus reducing the risk of damaging the lens or the slide. It also prevents too much light from entering the lens at once, which can result in a blurry or washed-out image.
